How to think about this product

When selecting Mepilex, procurement staff should consider its specific self-adherent properties which target the reduction of trauma to the wound bed. Unlike standard adhesive foams that may cause pain upon removal, this product is engineered to adhere gently to dry periwound skin while remaining non-adherent to moist tissue. The variety of sizes, ranging from small 4"x4" pads to large 8"x20" sheets, allows for standardization across various clinical needs, from minor abrasions to larger surgical or trauma wounds, potentially reducing the need for multiple specialized foam brands.
